Zakaria's 3rd Post

I don’t understand why Siddhartha is so sad right now. I thought that it was really cool that he was about jump off the boat and kill himself and then he heard the word Om. I thought that that word was what had opened his spirit. It was a good thing that he did not kill himself because that would have ruined the whole book. I thought that it was cool that his friend came to him and they met up after all this has happened. It is also weird that they have changed so much since they have been separated in the time were they were with the Buddha. Truthfully I thought that Siddhartha’s friend has gotten to the road of nirvana while Siddhartha is in the side track of it. I don’t get how he thinks that he is over thinking it. He is just trying really hard to get nirvana. Why does he want to be so close to the river? What does this river symbolize? I think that the river might be the Genghis River in India. How does Vasudeva know how that the book has spoken to him? What is this book suppose to do with the rest of the story. It is cool that the river told him that there is no such thing as time but that is weird to me. Also here again the word Om is back and I think it is trying to tell him to meditate until he gets nirvana.
