Zakaria's First Post
The book started off without having that good of an intro. All it told us is that the guy was the son of a Brahman and it didn’t even tell us what a Brahman was, it expected us to know what that is. It seems like the book will go on how he is going around and searching for himself and the true goal in life. I don’t get why he is sad he seems like he was living a life where he had already reached peace and attained the goal that he was working on getting. This book reminds me of a book I read in kindergarten where it started off with an animal and another was looking at it and so on. That is like how he goes from being a Brahman to being a Saharan then going on the find the peace on his own. I get why he left Buddha. In the book he said, “I have learned that I can only find nirvana in myself.” This means that he respects Buddha and that he understands his teachings, but he thinks that everyone has a different way of finding nirvana and they cannot be taught how to find it they have to go and look for it themselves. I wonder if he will find nirvana but I think that he will find it because the next part is named the awakening. What do you think about his experiences Mark? Do you think he will find nirvana?
