It seems to me that the first chapter
in this book is a lot like the preface in When
Broken Glass Floats. The main character, Vonnegut is talking about his time
in the war; just like the way that Chananthy Him talked about how she was like
in the Khmer Rouge time. This part of the book seems more like a preface and I
feel that if this chapter was a preface, it would make more sense. This book as
a whole so far seems a lot like the book When
Broken Glass Floats because it is
also an autobiography like the book When
Broken Glass Floats that we are reading now. It is also like When Broken Glass Floats because it is
about war too. This book is a little hard to understand because the main
character goes through many different times in his life. I understand that he goes through time to show
different things that happened to him but it takes away from the understanding
of time for the reader. The reader does not understand the order of context. I
don’t understand why there is so many weird things that are going on in this
book. Mark do you understand why the book is so random and weird.
